Short answer: no, and such a field would require reviewing the work item history to calculate the cumulative time in the status.
There are likely marketplace apps to provide such a capability. Perhaps check with your Jira Site Admin to learn if your site already has one of those tools added.
Kind regards,
Bill
If you would be interested in a mktplace app for this requirement, you can try out
With this app you generate time in each workflow status for multiple issues with multiple filter and grouping options. You can also extract trends analysis and add that as a dashboard gadget too. The data can be exported to a CSV file too.

Jira does not have a built-in field that directly calculates and exports the "Time in Status" for issues.
You can try Status Time Reports Free - Time in Status

Hello @Shaun McGuire
There is no built-in field in Jira that calculates Time in Status, and we also don’t have a custom field for that. Jira simply doesn’t track this data in a way that’s accessible without additional tooling.
However, if you're looking to report on how long issues spend in each status, I highly recommend using a marketplace app like Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira, developed by our team at OBSS.
Timepiece is the oldest and most mature Time in Status app on the Atlassian Marketplace, available for both Jira Cloud and Data Center.
Status Duration report (please see the screenshot above) which shows how much time each issue spent on each status. You can combine the time for multiple statuses to get metrics like Issue Age, Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time etc.
For all numeric report types, you can calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by the issue fields you select. For example total in-progress time per customer or average resolution time per sprint, week, month, issuetype, request type, etc. The ability to group by parts of dates (year, month, week, day, hour) or sprints is particularly useful here since it allows you to compare different time periods or see the trend.
The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well.
Tiimepiece reports can be accessed through its own reporting page, dashboard gadgets, and issue view screen tabs. Also you can export all kinds of report as a CSV.
Visit Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira to explore how our JIRA add-on can revolutionize your metrics measurement process. Enjoy a 30-day free trial to experience the full range of features.
Hope it helps,
Ayça

Hi @Shaun McGuire 👋
I completely agree with what Bill Sheboy said — Jira doesn’t have a built-in field to calculate cumulative time in status, as it would require analyzing issue history. It’s a good idea to first check with your Jira Site Admin to see if your instance already has a Marketplace app installed for this purpose.
If not, I’d recommend trying out Time in Status (developed by me team)
With this app, you can:
Track how long issues stay in each status
See metrics like Average Time, Status Entrance Date, Assignee Time, etc.
Export all data to CSV/Excel
Filter, sort, and share reports with your team.
In add-on for exporting data:
And here is the data after exporting in an XLSX file.
Have a nice day 🥳

Hi @Shaun McGuire,
This is not possible with the Jira native tools.
A solution would be to search for an app (plugin) on Atlassian Marketplace that displays this info.
In case you want to try an plugin, our Great Gadgets app offers some gadgets that offers this info and allows you to export the data in CSV.
Time in Status gadget - on its Data tab, it can display the time in every status for the issue in a filter/JQL
WIP Aging Chart gadget - on its Data tab, it can display the time in current status for the issue in a filter/JQL
