Is there a way to bulk update remove inactive users?

I need to remove a handful of users who appear in various fields in my Insight records.  These users have been disabled in Active Directory and now appear as Inactive in Jira.   The fields I'm having trouble with are multi-value fields, such as one I've called Interested Individuals.

I can run a query for any of the disabled users ("Interested Individuals" like "Schmoe"), but when I try to bulk update to remove them from the fields in question, they don't appear.  I understand that they shouldn't appear if I'm doing a bulk update add, but for a bulk update remove, they really should.  Instead I now have several hundred records I need to update manually.

Thanks

Thanks for responding, but that link is about how to remove users from Jira as a whole for licensing reasons.

I'm talking about removing them from Jira insight records.  I have validators in some of my workflows to ensure that all referenced users are active before allowing, for example, the Submit action.  I'd like to proactively find and replace all instances of those inactive users (e.g. Joe  Inactive User appears as the Owner for services a, b and c and as an Approver for security groups x, y  and z) before someone calls to say an urgent RFC is being held up by my validator.

Thanks.
