When Jira/Greenhopper was first installed, there were a significant number of issues that were being closed without a resolution attached to them. They offer us no historical value and mess up the results of issue searches. Can we delete these somehow without opening them all and then deleting them?
Do a jql search with
status in (Closed, Resolved) and resolution is EMPTY
then bulk change > delete as Timothy suggested.
Alternatively enable editing of closed issues and bulk edit them to add a resolution
