I have created multiple Issue Matrix Custom Issue Linking Mode Fields and want them to sort in a specific order. I can sort the results within one mode field, but I want to sort the groupings:

I have created 5 different Issue Link Mode fields:

Features ( Want to sort this group as #2 grouping)

Epics (#1)

User Stories (#3)

Production Defects (#5)

Tests (#4)

I want to sort them on the display of any of the issues in a different order than the order that I created them

“mentioned in” is a special type of link and it cannot be shown in Issue Matrix. However, if in the Issue Matrix configuration, you choose “Hide Issue Links”, the standard Jira Issue Links panel will not be hidden entirely, but only the “mentioned in” links will remain. This way you can use Issue Matrix for internal links and the standard panel will show only links to Confluence."

Jana - I am not familiar with this add-on but taking a quick look at the docs tells me I think you could do this with JQL in the field configuration with Ascending or Descending added to the filter. I am not clear what you mean or trying to sort against from your description.

https://botronsoft.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ILV/pages/1130758212/Issue+Links+Mode

Filter JQL (since v2.0.0)

Use this additional JQL to further filter the linked issues which will be shown in the Issue Matrix panel. The Issue Matrix JQL Extension can also be used. This filter will be executed only over the set of issues that would normally be shown in the Issue Matrix panel - no additional issues will be shown. For example, if you have the JQL "resolution = unresolved", the Issue Matrix panel will show only the unresolved issues which are linked to the current issue. If the JQL is not valid, it is ignored and no additional filtering is applied.

Sort By Selection (since v1.6)

The setting in this section controls the sort order of the sub-tasks shown in the Issue Matrix panel. The order of the issues could be Ascending or Descending based on the values of the selected field.

Multiple sort fields can be added - sorting will be done according to their priority.

The method used is the same used in Jira - Lucene and only the sortable fields are present as choices

Thanks for Trying to help Andrew! The Vendor of the plugin, Botron Software, responded with it's not possible to do what I am trying to do....however....the good news is that the "mentioned in" links will show even if I "hide" the native "issue links" panel which is EXACTLY what I wanted as the end result, so I am good. Here is their response exactly "
