Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×We're using JIRA Cloud. We have older releases, where the release date, and start date are not wholly accurate. We think we're saving the right dates on some of them so we have ultimately 2 issues here.
1. Older release & start dates are "off" and we're uncertain why so many are coming up this way.
2. The bigger issue, is when we "Unrelease", then change the dates, then Release, the changed release dates are often not persisting. It may first show up correctly on the releases page, but then later, the dates revert back to the prior dates.
This is becoming very frustrating, and I'm wondering if there is a JIRA bug or feature around this that I'm not aware of. Someone mentioned 3rd party AddOns changing dates (I don't see why they would), so for reference, we're running GIT Sync, and Big Picture.
Thanks in advance for any insight into this.
Hi Rich,
I am not on the Jira team but I will try to help.
This does sound like strange behaviour!
1. When you say release and start dates are "off" what do you mean by this? Are there 1 day early or late compared to what you've set? If so I'd recommend checking your timezone settings.
2. I would recommend trying to uninstall Big Picture and trying again to see if this is the culprit.
I hope that helps!
Hi Martyn,
Thanks for offering these suggestions, and I will try them if needed. I'm going to enter this at the Atlassian JIRA support site as well. I need to track our releases now - to see why we think we are observing release dates changing, over time.
