JIRA Site to Site Migration Missing all Dashboards

Mike Bell

Hi All:

I just performed a JIRA migration from one cloud Site to another. The process completed successfully, but as I opened up the new Site I noticed that none of my Dashboards moved over and maybe only half of my filters did as well.

The migration had no options of including/excluding filters and dashboards. My migration selected everything, but not everything migrated.

How do I get my Dashboards and Filters over to the new site without having to manually re-create them?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi @Mike Bell ,

You can try Configuration Manager for Jira (CMJ) plugin. Another way is via a Data Center instance: set up a Data Center instance, restore your cloud site on it from a backup and use a dark feature of the DC to cloud migration assistant to migrate dashboards. for more details refer following articles.

I got it working, but here is what I had to do...

   1. Create a new Site with JIRA running.

   2. In source Site go to Settings--System--Import and Export-- Backup Manager--Create Backup for cloud. (This took almost a full day)

   3. Download the zip file, and according to the documentation to prevent timeout, break apart the zip file. https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/import-issues/

   4. Upload zip files, one at a time, to the destination site.

Although this was completely successful it took me an entire weekend to complete!

Copying a Product to a new Site should not have been this difficult. My attempt at the Cloud to Cloud Migration completed successfully (NO errors), but not all of my data was migrated. PLEASE FIX THIS Atlassian. My "workaround" was way too time consuming and I do not want to repeat this process again.
