FYI.. We are using  Atlassian JIRA (v6.4.6)

That sounds like you've uninstalled the add-on completely.  If 1.8 is added, it should have upgraded from 1.2, so when you "uninstall 1.2", you're actually removing the add-on.

Could you check what is actually installed?
