Jira Automation Conditions "Reporter not one of" not working

Julie October 14, 2021

I am trying to create an automation that will only allow certain people to create issues in a project.  If someone outside of that group creates an issue, it should be cloned to another project and the original deleted.

I am in this allowed group, but when I created an issue, it still cloned and deleted it.  Is there something I'm missing in my logic that is preventing the Reporter condition from being ignored?

Hi Julie,

That certainly looks like it should work. What does the audit log show for it? Does it say it passed the condition?

Also, just curious, but why the check on the project? Shouldn't you just create the rule as a single project rule?

Hi John,

Strangely enough, the audit log doesn't show that run through at all, even though it processed the cloned issue.

I was checking for project just as a reminder b/c I'm going to be using the same automation in multiple projects and it's a good visual cue that I've made all the config changes for each project.  I did an edit where I removed the project condition, and it worked fine, so I'll go with that.

Thanks for the reply!
