Jira Cloud Epic List on Left Toolbar

In Jira Server, I could get Epics to show up on the left side when in backlog view (see image).  I'm now working at a new place using Jira Cloud and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get that to show.  It was VERY useful to have it there (rather than create an issue filter, which I know I can do but it's not that helpful).  I've scoured the internet and the community here and can't find it.  Anyone?

Hello @Tracy Reitmann 

At the top of the Backlog screen you should find a pull-down for Epic, if you have at least one Epic issue within scope of the board. If you pull down that field you should see an option at the bottom of the pull-down to turn on that Epics panel.
