Currently in Jira, when creating Linked issue the value of Original Estimate and Remaining estimate are copied to the new issue as well.

Can I disable such behavior? I do not need to copy anything from the old issue.

By now the only workaround - Create new issue, then set the link.

Hello @Dmitry Mironov ,

Copying a value from one issue to a linked issue is going to most likely be a function in an Automation Rule, but it could also be something in a third part app, like scriptrunner or power scripts for Jira.

I would recomend that you check the automation rules first, Details on the configuration can be seen in the topics in the following documentation:

Make sure you look at both the Global Rules and the Project level rules.  This would be a Global Rule if it copies the value to another project, and would be a Project rule if the linked issues existed in the same project.

And an example of what to look for in third party apps can be seen in the example using scriptrunner in this thread:

Hi Earl.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Checked Jira automation rules:

- no global rules

- one project rule ti assign issue on create.

I do have ScriptRunner installed but have nothing related to copy issue field values.

Suppose I will disable all plugins and check behavior then to confirm if it is caused by plugins or not.

Hi @Dmitry Mironov ,

Thanks for the Update, and one more thing to check is if there is a post function in the workflow copying the field value.  There is not a native post function for this so it would be an add-on triggering the effect, and I know that Jira Miscellaneous Workflow Extension, has option to copy a field and I believe Jira workflow Toolbox has this capability as well, for a couple possible add-on apps to check.

Regards,
Earl
