Jira Post function copy Assignee in Custom Filed in Jira

Hello Team,

We have created the Automation to set the Assignee, and also add the Post-function into the "Create Transition" i.e. "Copy Value from Custom Field" but Assignee is not getting copied into the Single User picker filed.

"The field Domain Owner Approval will take the value from Assignee. Source and destination issue are the same"

Need your support urgently!!!

If you already populated the assignee field==please clarify what you mean transition? transition is usually moving from status to status so you are not using the correct post function. Are you trying to make a new issue? Or are you trying to populate a field that is a user picker (for example: approver)?

Hi Carla,

Let me explain the scenario first:

"When issue created ticket goes for Approval to Domain Owner---Then----> Application Owner--->Implementation"

So for Domain Owner I have created Automation when issue created using If/Else--->JQL Condition.

And for Application Owner I have Created Component, set his "Component Lead" and added into the Workflow Post function, and copying Assignee value into the Single User Custom Field i.e. Application Owner and same is added to the Application Owner Status"

We have stages of Approval like when ticket creates it goes to "Domain Owner" & then to "Application Owner" like that.

Let me explain you in detailed and the scenario is:
