Hi,
i'm planning to introduce a release processes through JIRA. The idea is that users/TLs would fill a predefined template for the release (basically a release plan). This JIRA would go through flowing stages
prepare => approvals => ready to release => release in progress => done (terminal stage).
The terminal stage would also have "rollout", "abort", and "cancel". I'm also planning to introduce approvals in the workflow.
Any suggestions on how should i go about it? No preferring any add-ons or paid apps.
You can create a separate board for managing your release statuses. The only statuses that would appear on this board are Prepare, Approvals, Ready to Release, Release In Progress, and Done. Any development work or development statuses should not appear on this board, unless that is included in your process to release. Ideally you want to keep those two things separated.
Your Done status, you can have different resolutions (rollout, abort, cancel) that you can set when an issue is moved to Done. I can't speak to approvals or how to set that up, since we don't have anything like that in our workflow.
Daniela,
Thanks for your input. How should I link different projects to this board?
This is the current workflow:
How should i link this with the new board?
