Jira issues of one project experiencing slowness

One of our jira project issue is facing slowness and now its happening every day. Found that in db the two tables [chgitem_group_field] & [chggroup_issue_id] will be having many hits during this slowness and eorginizing the index of these two tables would fix the issue.

This is only happening for one project for which jira rest service is written for issue update & also creation from another tool used by our company. 
Please help to find the root cause of this.
