LDAP users synchronization

Agustín Ruiz July 30, 2018

Hello everyone,

I have a question that I hope I can solve with your help, I have two JIRA Software installations (7.8.4 and 7.1.7), in both we have several users that access through LDAP and I would like to know how JIRA acts when it eliminates some of the users in the LDAP directory, does it also eliminate the user in JIRA having or not assigned issues ?, does not delete it but leaves it inactive and the issues continue assigned to it?.

Thank you very much in advance, regards.

@Agustín RuizIf  you disable account in  LDAP, user account will  still  be present in Jira  but user will  not be able  to  login  with LDAP  credentials( internal with LDAP authentication)

so  all data(issues, boards and so on) will  still  be  there,   but when you  delete user for  LDAP

the user will be gone   in JIRA after syncro, i suppose  all  user data could have problem in JIRA

So  recommend  you  disable  user in LDAP.

Best!
