Labels only for explicit projects

Helpdesk July 3, 2018

Hi,

Using lables in JIRA projects comes with its disadvantages.

- if I make a new label for task A in 1 project, the label is saved
- If I want to adjust a label on task B, the label of the first task is given as a suggestion
- This suggestion is also given if I'm working on tasks in another project. That means that you get a lot of suggestions once multiple projects are working with the labels.

Is this normal behavior?

Is there a way to prevent labels from task A to appear in other tasks and in another project?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

The out of the box Labels are global. You can see this ticket:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-23656

But you can create a new custom field of the Label type and set a context to it to a certain project. I guess, in this case only labels for a certain project will be stored there. You can try.
