Link Issue via Automation

Hi Community! 

Looking for some advise here. 

I would like to know, if its possible to build an automation that could create a "related linked issue", based an URL field. 

Context,

Customer when open a new request in a portal, will insert a link of an related issue in other project, that form field is mapped into a URL jira field. 

Then, would like to have an automation that on Creation will pick up that "URL" and link it to the newly created issue.

I haven't tried it before but if you can grab issue-key from the URL, than you can provide it below as a smart value.
