New JIRA Automation - Can not find my board for Sprint Triggers

Hello,

I'm testing out the new next-gen automation and trying to set an Automation that triggers when a Sprint begins.  However I am stuck on Step 1 - my board just isn't in the dropdown on the very first selection.  We've been using Jira with Sprints for 3 weeks now, and have an active sprint running and another waiting to start next week.   How can I get it added?

My Jira is company wide and contains many different projects - several of those projects boards do appear here but mine does not.

Thanks!

Hello @Erin Blomert

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Indeed, Next-gen projects use a different mechanism to link Sprint to issues which the Automation rules are not able to recognize yet.

Basically, this happens due to the fact that Next-gen projects use single entities for each project scope (Sprint, status, etc), so a different field was created to link Next-gen Sprints.

We have the following feature request to allow the Sprint field in Automation rules to display options of Next-gen boards:

Sprint triggers for Next-gen boards don't work

If you are using Next-gen, I'm afraid we don't have a way to make it work with Next-gen projects at this moment, so I recommend you keep an eye on the feature request and move your issues to a Classic project in case you really need this functionality.

Let us know if you have any questions.
