New to Jira - Custom Field Configuration to an Existing Project

I'm struggling with creating custom issue fields and attaching them to an existing project.

Can anyone help?

Have you already created the custom field? And if so, how did you do that? What were the steps?

Hi @Bryanna Williams ,

where are you stuck exactly? These are the basic steps...

1. click on the Settings icon (sprocket) in upper right
2. select issues
3. in sidebar select custom field
4. click create and select the field type
5. you should be prompted to associate the field to one or more screens. This is where you are associating to your project via the screens.
