Is it possible, using the scriptrunner plugin, to either block issues from being added to sprint if they've been in a sprint before and/or prevent sprint from starting if such issues are in planned sprint.
What I want to achieve is a particular type of ticket that throughout it's lifetime can be only in one sprint, and every new sprint will need to have a new ticket of that type created for itself.
I don't think that's possible.
At least I can't think of a way to achieve this.
There is nothing in script runner that would prevent manipulations from the backlog to drag issues to/front sprints.
The best you could do is generate some after-the-fact warning/notifications. Like check for such change taking place and either flagging the issue, adding a comment, or sending a custom notification to users/leaders/managers saying "hey you did something wrong here, don't do it again".
I assume same would be true for closing the sprint? ie. blocking sprint from closing if 2 issues of the same type for example are present in it?

Correct, that is my understanding as well.
