Hi there,
I am looking at changing a Jira Project Key, and was wondering if it would impact the app integration with Bitbucket? I understand that a re-index will occur once the Project Key has changed.
Wanting to understand the impact of the connected apps/integrations before proceeding.
Thanks
Hayden
Hello, Good day. Whether this is Jira cloud environment ?
I understand that you want to change project key on one of the project. Whether the old project key will be used in another project ?
All the PR, commit and dev activity sync happens between Bitbucket and Jira using the Jira issue key. Changing the project key will change the issue key on Jira as well. If in case original project key will not be changed then dev status will be still in sync. In case you will be using the old project key on different project, then PR and commit will start showing on new project (as it has the issue key)
This is on Jira Cloud. Once the Project Key is changed, it will no longer be used anywhere further.
If my understanding is correct from above, All new commits will use the new key, and existing ones will still be present, but if attached to a new PR/commit it will update to the new key?

I tested with Jira cloud and Bitbucket cloud. Changing the project key did not break the existing commit sync. For new issues, we need to use the new key.
Note: I did not change the original project key setting
