Project workflow had a status change randomly

Brandon Overstreet August 14, 2024

One of my project workflows had a status get retitled somehow. The Audit log doesn't reflect a recent change to the workflow. Is there a glitch or a potential cause for this to occur?

Hi @Brandon Overstreet

Welcome to the community.

Is this workflow used in multiple projects?

In this it might that an admin changed the status name, this will then reflect in your project as well.

The workflow is associated with only one project. My original thought was it was added to another project but this isn't the case, oddly enough.

Thinking outside the box... is it possible for an admin to associate the same workflow to a different project, make changes, and this not to reflect as an edit on workflow? I guess the real question is, is there limitation to the Audit Logs record keeping. I'm an Admin and there are 4 others.

I think that a name change of a status is most likely, and that should appear in the audit log

Many Jira admins suggest that renaming a status is not a good idea, since it leads to this kind of problem
