Hi,

I have a problem with a user who has the role of project administrator but cannot change the author on a task that is being created or already created, please tell me what the problem might be. When trying to specify the author, the dropdown list is missing. But at the same time, another user who is also the project administrator can change the author and he has a drop-down list. One difference between users is that one of them is in the jira admin group.

Hi @Igor Rudich

Does that user has the Browse Users global permission? This can be the problem.

Also the Assign Issues permission within the project permissions.

Best regards,
Eduardo

We have the same problems where I work where Projects Admins think they have all the permissions in the world.  I would suggest reading through the permissions page for the project to see what role/group/etc is needed for Modify Reporter.  From there you can set yourself as the role or edit the issue to ensure you are the correct permission if it is based on a custom field.  If it is group based you will have to engage your Jira System to get added to the group.

Example URL for Permissions:

HI @Igor Rudich ,

do you want to modify the reporter? It sounds like it to me. This action has its own project permission called "Modify Reporter" in the Permission scheme! I hope that answers your question.

Best, Max
