I need some help to understand the user access on JIRA.
I'm needing add access for a user to a project as developer, but i'm confused because there are a lot of thing in different locations to give access..
And I tried to follow this documentation: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver072/assign-users-to-groups-project-roles-and-applications-828787671.html
Issues:
@Raphael BrunoFirst of all we have application access and project access.
You will need to click the button on Jira Software on the image then access will be giving to Jira application. You need to be Project administrator to add user/group to a role in a project. This group which you have created, make sure you are project admin, then go to users and roles in the project and then add the group to developers role.
Best!
Hello Raphael,
You need to assign him a license, in order to do this the user must have Application access, in the image attached above check the "JIRA Software" checkbox.
Additionally, as administrator you do not get permissions across all JIRA Projects, because of that you cannot see all projects in this view. In order to do this, you must have browse project permissions on each project you want to browse.
For get this permissions (if you need them) access to the project administration view, you can do this by the admin panel:
Also from project administration pane you can manage the roles, permissions and security levels in order to compose or manage a permission matrix for your projects.
Regards,
Marcos.
