Authentication error to Jira server using bonfire

I just installed the bonfire extension for Jira but not able to connect to the Jira Server. Keep getting authentication errror with status 0. Strangely, when I connect to other public sites, I am able to authenticate to jira server from bonfire. Can someone please advise whats the issue. I installed it on IE8.

A status of 0 generally indicates a network connection error. Is there any kind of proxy server in between Bonfire and JIRA that might be interfering with the request?

Also, sometimes IE connection errors can be resolved by logging into JIRA normally, then opening Bonfire which tries to piggyback off the existing authenticated session.
