Bug issue : can’t set epic link

Hello,
I’ve been looking for the answer for couple of days but can’t seem to find it anywhere :(
When trying to create an issue with BUG type the epic link field doesn’t show. Is that normal ? When I searched for the Epic link its blocked. Can’t someone explain this to me please

Very sorry for the delayed response, actually the screen scheme is shared with other projects in the instance, so I can't modify it.

I'm an admin of the plateform and have a user's request of adding an epic link field in the Bug issue.

What I understood from Jose M, is that it's not possible, it that right ?

I am a Jira admin as well and in the past I was requested to provide the possibility to add an epic link afterwards. This was possible by updating the screen scheme. I have added the epic link field and that's it. The scheme is used by a lot of projects, but the change does not affect other agile projects negatively.

Try to open the issue type screen scheme, choose a screen for the BUG and try to add the Epic Link field.

Maybe I did not understood correctly, but epic Link belongs to issue type epic only.

You can create a bug as Issue in epic, then it will have the epic link.

Creating a bug not as issue in epic, you can update the issue afterwards and add the epic link, as already mentioned in the first answer. You need to add the epic link field to the screen scheme.
