×I simply want to copy or clone a subtask for a specific task. Is that possible?
I know how to clone a task including its sub-tasks but that is not what I am looking for.
I have tasks that will have several identical sub-tasks or almost identical sub-tasks, just different assignees and due dates. So instead of having to create all the subtasks from scratch is there a simple way to copy or clone a sub-task already created?
The project is a Software project - Company managed.
Thanks!
/Linda
Hi, @Linda Korpås. There is no way to do what you describe, AFAIK.
However, this tutorial from Atlassian shows you how to accomplish the same goal with Jira Automation.
I hope it helps,

Deep Clone can do this for you in an intuitive way.

Hello @Linda Korpås
If you're willing to use a third-party application, I can suggest trying our app Elements Copy & Sync that allows you to copy issues with all their content (summary, description, custom fields, comments, attachments, etc.) and their child issues.
You’ll be able to quickly clone all your subtasks at once.
Don't hesitate to try our app, it's free during 30 days and stays free under 10 users.
Kind regards,
Clara

Hi @Linda Korpås,
I am part of the Decadis team and, if you are open to using an app for this purpose, our app JWT for Jira Cloud includes the post function Create issue, which should be helpful for your purpose.
It should allow you to create some sub-tasks under a specific parent issue based on an issue list, copying some of the field values of the referenced issues in every new issue created. Other use cases for this post function can be found here.
If you are interested in our app and need more information about how to configure the post function for this purpose, please, feel free to create a request in our support portal or to reply to us in this thread.
Best regards,
Vicente
