Can you deactivate a user without loosing history, so that we can use their licence for a new user?

• Go to https://yourdomain.atlassian.net/secure/admin/user/UserBrowser.jspa
• Click on the user name so that you can see the user's details
• Disable all Applications the user has access to
  
  • Example
    
    • Disable JIRA
    • Disable Confluence
• Do not forget to confirm.
• Now this user can no loger access the applications but will still get all email updates,

• For internal users (Google Apps accounts)
  
  • the bad thing is that we can not alter the email address as it comes from Google Apps!
    
    • That is why we have to suspend the account

      • Go to https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/pledgeware.net/Organization#Organization/edit=org&org=29tnxhc2s7j9dl
      • Click on the user name
      • Click "Suspend user"
    • Q: Does the suspended Google Apps user count as a license?
      • A: Yes, they do! So please be careful when creating Google Apps users so that we do not consume licenses that are not needed.

  • Change the email address to an address that does not exist.

Hi Chris,

if you enter the admisitration page in Atlassian OnDemand, you will find an option "User management". You can simple check/uncheck the the application you want the user to access (or not). If you uncheck all the history is still available and the user cannot login anymore. Is that what you're asking for?
