Change workflow

I am about to chage a workflow within an active workflow scheme. I have deleted two statusses in the new workflow. There are no tickets that have the deleted statusses. When I attempt to publish I am being asked to provide a new status to replace the two old statusses.

My question is why I am being asked this across all issue types I have and not only the the 4 that is active in my scheme?

Your workflow is probably set to be applied to all issue types regardless of what is in your issue type scheme.  I believe when a workflow is set to be used by 'All unidentified issue types' then it's going to ask you how to handle those if there are significant changes.  You can quickly move past this screen by just hitting next.  There shouldn't be any to update if you don't use them currently.
