We have used the on premise version of JIRA for years and just transitioned to OnDemand. I'm trying to configure the mail server to work with our email hosted by Google (just as we had working before).
Any ideas why I'm timing out?
Turns out email is a restricted feature: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Restricted+Functions+in+Atlassian+OnDemand
If that's the case, why is it in the admin panel?
We have an internal issue raised for removing this from the admin panel. It should be rolled out in the coming weeks.

No, we just want to remove the menu item for now to avoid confusion. We are hoping to bring this feature back, but it will not be happening in the short term.

Ugh. I was about to move my entire organization to JIRA+GreenHopper+Bonfire+Fisheye in the cloud but this is a showstopper... and my option is have to dedicate internal resources to reimplement a feature you already have.

Hey folks,
This is a heads up that this feature is now fully implemented on OnDemand and can be configured by an Administrator following the steps described here:

Any issues feel free to open a Support Request that one of our Support Engineers will be happy to help with this.
