A few weeks ago I set up a automation rule and nothing happened. Suddenly this morning I had a hundred empty emails from no-reply@automation.atlassian.com with the notice "The following page hasn't been updated since and you might want to consider archiving it:"
No date or page info is provided and the email just stops there. I shut off the rule, but seriously, what's up with that?

@Julia B -Doc Queen This automation rule is one of the examples Atlassian uses for demonstration, therefore I also tried to get this up and running with similar results like yours.
My actual rule looks like this:
What I see is that in the automation action marked with the green arrow, the {{page.title}} smart value works as expected. But, in the email action's body, marked with red, it is evaluated to a blank string. As you see, I tried several other smart values in the email body, all became empty... I guess it is a bug in that particular action.
Generally speaking, while I like the idea of automation, I am sure that I don't want to receive a hundred email, each with a single expired page... What am I supposed to do then? Where should I start to update the content?
We have a similar mechanism in our Better Content Archiving app that sends out a single email with all the expired pages listed and it is personalized to the recipient! (If you are not responsible for the page, it won't be listed for you.)
All in all, it remains an actionable list:

@Julia B -Doc Queen Yep! are you able to confirm that the email does not show "You have an inactive page to review"?
