Is there a way to export data from Jira Agile?
I need to be able to display all Velocity and Burndown charts on one report. I can manage Burndown via the dashboard gadgets, but Velocity is proving elusive.
I've tried to export all issues from Jira into a spreadsheet and manage it from there, but info about sprint start dates/duration seems to be stored elsewhere.
Any suggestions for how I can either: a) embed muliple velocity reports in a single document (without copying and pasting each individual report); or b) export sprint start/end dates to a spreadsheet?
Thanks!
Hello Matthew,
I'm afraid there is no way to export the data in that way right now. You can only gather the info from the selected board's reports (velocity and burndown).
From the looks of what you intend to do, I believe that could be a very specific job for our team of experts, who would be happy to help you out! :)
Best regards,
Benito Picarelli
Thanks for the swift response Benito - your definitive answer will save me hours of frustration!
Kind regards
Matt

An update to this request would be good.
Seem's completely bizarre that we can't export data into excel! Really strange!!!!

It just blows me away-- all of the ink dedicated to this one simple and fundamental ask, including all the gyrations we have to go through (thanks to those who've figured it out). Just give me an export option for details in a Sprint report. Please??? How difficult can this be?

They want you to spend more time on their platform haha
This is such a basic feature that has been asked for nearly 7 years (that's how far back I found a request for this)

Our apps provide the following exporting capabilities for Jira Agile (now Jira Software) data.
1. PDF View Plugin can export any issue, also from the backlog, from sprints, from Kanban / Scrum boards to custom PDF documents. Via scripting you should be able to do your own calculations. We even have an old template for team velocity reports that you could as starting point:
2. The same app can export all Jira Software gadgets, so you can get burndown charts, sprint health or complete boards at a single click:
3. Better Excel Plugin can export any issue (backlog, sprints, Kanban / Scrum boards contexts are fully supported) to custom Excel spreadsheets, if this is your preferred tool. You can use functions, formulas, charts on any Jira Software managed value (in this case, to get the Velocity chart):
I am sure one of these 2 can solve your use case.
(Disclaimer: these are paid and supported apps, and I am a developer.)

It does, but not from the Sprint Report screen.
Instead, run a JQL query like this in the Issue Navigator
sprint = "Your already closed sprint"
It produces the list of the issues you're asking for. Then export this issue list. That's it.

Hi,
It is possible, but inefficient. It does not export all data (columns) to the sprint.

And it is not possible through the Better Excel plugin.

Hi,
I am using Jira as a user in our sub-contractors account. The deal with the sub-contractor is about to expire and we'd like to have all our issues and agile board in our new account. Is there a way to get all the necessary data to the new account?
Thanks in advance!
