I currently have 2 workflows:
- 1. one for issue types user story, task, bug
- 2. one for issue type subtask
When I move an issue type of user story, task or bug to "Done" I fire up a transition to show a resolution screen (1st workflow) and when I move an issue type of subtask to "Done" I don't fire any transition with resolution screen (2nd workflow)
Now I would like to combine stuff together, so what I want is that when all subtask of an issue (user story, task, bug) are moved to "Done" the issue (user story, task, bug) is automatically moved to "Done", so that will trigger my first workflow valid for issues like User Story, Task, Bug that will fire a transition with my resolution screen so I can either close the User Story, Task, Bug or I can leave it open in case I know someone else haven't created their own subtask on it and therefore the issue shouldn't be closed by my subtasks resolution.
Thank you!
Hey Denis,
Welcome to the Community, you can do this with the help of an add-on in Jira. There have been several similar threads here to with suggestions: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Questions/Parent-issue-needs-to-close-once-sub-task-are-closed/qaq-p/89276
Scriptrunner for Jira has a built in script which does this: https://scriptrunner.adaptavist.com/latest/jira/builtin-scripts.html#_transition_parent_when_all_subtasks_are_resolved but you might want to check out some of the other add-ons too.
Please let the community know how this works out for you!
Cheers,
Keri
I already pay for Jira Cloud, I don't want to pay for a plugin as well, isn't that possible without extra plugins/addons?
