Follow a list of tickets in Jira in bulk

Israel Huerta October 23, 2018

Any Plugin that works to follow Jira's tickets? Eg. Enter a list of tickets and that all this list follows. I need to follow approximately 500-600 tickets per day, it is very slow to do it manually ticket by ticket. I appreciate your comments

Hi Israel,

There's two method to stay updated for new issues:

  • Subscriptions which let you stay on top of a large set of related issues. You can subscribe to any filter in Jira, and you’ll be emailed a consolidated version of those issues.
  • Or Bulk watch which lets you subscribe to individual notifications for each issue at once.

Both of these will ask for the specified filter that you would like to include.

Feel free to have a read of this blog post: Meet the New Jira: Watch Issues in Bulk!

Cheers, Syauqi

You can use bulk update to add yourself as a watcher on issues.  The best way would be for it to automatically happen and you could do this in your workflow if it is a specific issue type or issues on a specific project.

There are also plugins like jira suite utilities (JSU), scriptrunner or automation for jira that would allow you to perform more logic on workflow or projects to add yourself.

Second automation for JIRA!!! We use cloud and we're still learning to work with it, but so far it has been a game changer.
