Github integration missing transition triggers and post-functions?

Our team is using the marketplace Github integration and I'm exploring using triggers on branch creation to transition tickets to "In Progress". It works fine for branches created outside of Jira, but if I used the integration's "Create a branch" method, the trigger doesn't seem to work. In the screenshot, SAN-27 has a branch created outside of Jira, SAN-28 has a branch created in Jira.
In addition, I've added a post-function to transition any parent ticket(s) to "In Progress" when a child is transitioned, and these are not working in both cases - "Mobile Snazzy Feature" is not "In Progress".
