I would like to create a global automation that creates a Feature Requirements page in Confluence whenever a Jira issue summary contains "FRD".
The problem is, when creating the automation, I'm only able to select one specific Space for the Confluence page to be created in, regardless of which Jira Project the automation was triggered from.
If there was an option to select "The Space connected to the Jira project that triggered the automation", then I would be all set.
Since that is not an option, it appears that the only solution is to create a separate automation for every single Jira Project in order to have the Confluence pages created in their correct Spaces.
I have tried to flip the order of operations and use the creation of a Confluence Page as the trigger to create Jira Issues, but it's the same problem. I am only able to specify one specific Project in which the issues are created, regardless of which Confluence Space triggered the automation.
Is there any other way that I can make this work without having to create/manage automations for every single Jira Project?
Hello Casey
It sounds like you're looking to streamline the creation of Confluence pages across multiple Jira projects without creating separate automations for each.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to setting up a global automation rule that can handle multiple projects by utilizing conditional logic:
Create a Global Rule:
Check for "FRD" in Issue Summary:
Use Branching for Each Project:
Configure Page Details:
Tun on Rule.
Additionally, there are apps available that allow for dynamic page creation based on the project, by building a project space scheme. It can dynamically determine the correct space for the page based on the project details, further simplifying the page creation process.
