Hello, I'm trying to build out some reporting in Jira that is currently handled in external spreadsheets. For example, in the context of yearly support metrics, I'm trying to track year over year counts regarding the average number of tickets opened per organization.
For instance, assuming a sample set of:
2020 - 5 customers - 10 total tickets (avg 2 tickets / customer)
2021 - 7 customers - 21 total tickets (avg 3 tickets / customer)
2022 - 10 customers - 27 total tickets (avg 2.7 tickets / customer
With the above, I'd like to be able to visualize or capture the average year over year. One thought I had would be if there is a way to filter on the creation date of the organization, however I don't think that the reports using JQL work that way. Similarly, if I need to add manual counts of a yearly customer total (or other such values), that would be acceptable, but I don't see a way to pass in a static 'variable' into a query. It seems that the reports available based on JQL don't support more robust querying of not just aggregating the number of tickets with a particular field value, but my intention of comparing two JQL queries against each other.
Of particular use would be a way to create a report template that has dropdowns for certain targeted values (year, ticket type, customer, resolution status), and then for the report to be populated using those values, and while I realize it may be a bit too advanced for the standard reporting tools available using JQL, if anyone has suggestions on possible solutions - either in a change of how I'm approaching the problem, or via marketplace apps/extensions, I'd be happy to hear them.
Hello, @James K_,
You can build this report with Performance Objectives: Charts for Jira app.
Hello Tanya,
I've installed the application under the trial period and have a question. In your example is the "Group By" filter grouping the tickets based on the create date of the ticket?
Thanks!
