Hide time tracking and worklog for certain users

Hey brains trust, 

This seems to be a popular topic. We want to use the Jira time tracking, but only want to expose the data to certain users.

I've looked at marketplace options, and the closest I got was Scriptrunner behaviours.. but I cannot seem to target time tracking or worklog.

Does anyone have a solution using Scriptrunner or other that allows me to:

- hide time tracked
- work log

for a given user group?

Hello Daniel,

After you install a time tracking app, you can change the "time tracking provider" in Jira cloud. As soon as you configured a time tracking app as a provider instead of the "Jira default", all time tracking realted UI elements will be hidden, eg. "Work Logs" tab on issues.

After you set the provider, usually each app provide their own permission control, with different levels and granularity. For example, with our Timetracker app you can control who can even access the app and use/see work log related UI elements with its own Global permission level. You can also control who will be able to see worklogs created by other users, or only their own, etc. You can check the provider permissions here.

One important thing to mention is that changing the time tracking provider only hides those from the UI, but worklogs will be still available through REST API. Also, for some reason the time tracking project reports will remain as well, but there is a Atlassian ticket to resolve this already and we hope they will fix this in the future.
