How Can I find the Current Version of JIRA on Demand?

David Rogers January 27, 2012

Is there a place on the app where it shows the current version? I am seeing some demo's from 2011 that look more advanced that what I see on my instance. I would assume the latest 4.4 is deployed in on demand. How can I tell?

Ok I found it finally.. Its under the menus at /Admin/Issues/System Info

it is showing 4.4.1-studio-rc3 as of Jan 28 2012 which is a bit behind the official release version.

Application versions for OnDemand can be found on this page.

It's probably too obvious and I'm not 100% positive whether this is identical for OnDemand, but all our on premise Atlassian tools (including JIRA) conveniently include this information in the footer of every page; as far as I recall this used to be the same for the OnDemand version I've played around with at some point.

In addition, the current versions of the applications running in Atlassian OnDemand should be listed in Atlassian OnDemand Application Versions as well - be aware though, that this page doesn't appear to be maintained in realtime exactly and may contain incorrect information in times (e.g. right now Confluence is listed as 4.1, but Last updated in October 2011, though this update seems to have been deployed in December 2011 in fact); still its parent Atlassian OnDemand release summary seems to be the correct page to follow regarding respective updates of the OnDemand platform.

Looks like the version is NOT on the footer of the on demand pages. Just links to "Powered by Atlassian", "Terms of Use", and "Answers" mabye this is a bug?

It's not a bug, but an intentional change. We're moving towards a system where there are no 'versions' in OnDemand, so you might (for example) be running a version in between JIRA 5.0 and 5.1 that never gets 'released' as a Download/BTF/On-premises edition. It also helps the footer stay consistent between all the applications.
