I would like to create several sections

Backlog

Ready for Grooming

Pre-grooming

Draft or General Tickets

How can I do that? Any tips are appreciated.

Hi @José Namén

It's not possible to have "multiple backlogs' natively.

But there are a few alternatives - which would work best will depend on your need!

---

In Company-managed Projects, you could:

  1. Use Quick Filters to filter the view of the Issues - for example, just show Draft/General Tickets. You could have one quick filter per group of Issues
  2. On Scrum Boards, you could create Sprints and use them as "additional Backlogs" - I wouldn't suggest this is good practice though.

---

Similar options exist if you're using a Team-managed Project:

  1. Custom Filters, which are similar to Quick Filters in Company-managed Projects.
  2. Use the Scrum Board + Multiple Sprints method I mentioned above.

---

Let us know if any of these work for you!

Hi Jose,

At my company, on of the main reasons we shifted to scrum from Kanban was the ability to use Sprints to categorize our backlog items. Our sprint list looks like the following

  • Current Sprint (Active)
  • Time-Tracking (Future Sprint)
  • Groomed Backlog (Future Sprint)
  • Backlog

Some teams are able to plan ahead an have the next sprint or two also planned and in the backlog.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Aaron Brady ,

We have a specific sprint naming convention.  I assume that if I were to create a "sprint" called "Groomed Backlog," that would potentially adversely affect my company's reporting, correct?

Hi @José Namén and welcome to the community!

You can't have different sections on the backlog BUT as a workaround you can create a custom field with all these backlog statuses. Then, and when you assign each of your issue to a backlog status, have this field appear on your backlog via the board settings: Something like this:

Hi,

Welcome to the community

You can't do this unless you create your own addon. You could try to play with the card color to display the same color for backlog item, pre-grooming etc
