How to add users to jira teams

We are using TEAM custom field to configure teams for our JIRA project. We have also created boards for each team. Now, this field only allows us to add the team names. But does not let us add users to the teams.

How do we do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Debraj,

Wouldn't it be better to use Project Roles to manage that instead of defining a custom field? I believe that Roles/Permissions will work way better than the solution you're using.
