How to bulk changes lable field

Deleted user October 31, 2019

I have imported new issues by csv import.

But I found label field content is incorrect and need to be updated by a new csv file.

Is it possible to replace label field with new content in bulk changes, but still map the id and label based on csv content?

Thanks.

Hello,

Jira offers the ability to Bulk Change but it cannot be based on a CSV.
Usually Bulk change works by doing the following.

  1. Query all issues you imported
  2. Click on Bulk Change -> Select All -> Edit Issues
  3. Scroll down to Change Labels, here you can "Find and remove" specific labels or "add to existing"

So in your case you'll need to repeat these steps for each value of Labels you have.

My recommendation would be to simply re-do the import correctly this time:

  1. Delete the old imported issues on Jira
  2. Update the CSV import and re-do your computation/mapping for the correct Label values
  3. Re-import the CSV

Hello @[deleted] ,

You can apply for a free trial of the following plugin.

Replace-Merge Labels (additive labels) : Replace labels from multiple issues to the issue label field or label type custom fields
