Hello, I'm trying to create a test, however on the Issue Type field, I only see options: Epic, Bug and Story.
Any clue if this is something related to my account? or perhaps if I should follow a different approach
Thanks!
Hi Andrea,
You need a test management plugin like synapseRT to create testing related entities (e.g. Test Case, Test Plan ...) in your Jira first, and then add "Test Case" issue type from "Project Settings" page. After that, you will see "Test Case" issue type in the dropdown list when you try to create a new ticket.
Regards,
Cheney
Hello Andrea,
Thank you for raising this question.
Can you confirm if you are using a Classic Project template or a Next-gen template? Also, are you an administrator on your project?
If you are using a Classic project template, maybe your issue-type scheme only have these three issue types configured for it. To configure new issue types on for this project, you can navigate to project settings > Issue Type Scheme.
If you are using a Next-gen project template, the options available (Project Settings > Issue types) are Epic, Story, Task and Bug, but you can create new types under the same menu.
P.S: Both actions above need Administrator access to be performed, so contact your project Admin if you do not have it.
Please, let me know if this information helps.
