How to integrate Jira software and Jira service management (both on data center)?

Hello,

I have Jira software data center installed on local environment and currently, we need to install Jira service management data center and get it integrated with the existing jira software data center, any idea about that?

Hope you are doing good!!

You don't have to install JSM differently on another instance as @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- you just go their and install the JSM on the instance. You don't have to integrate it seperately.

Go to admin -> manage applications and add JSM to the the system.

The other alternative is to have a separate environment for JSM data center, in this case how to do the integration with JSW?

I could suggest to have single instance and just increase the resources such as JVM, RAM, Storage etc. Still you need to evaluate the current Jira usage/performance of Jira and you need to take decision accordingly.

Yes, it will impose some more load on the nodes, but only as a function of how you use it.  So just think about how many more users you will have after you've added it and look to https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/jira-server-sizing-guide-975033809.html for sizing it (I know this says "server", but the recommendation for sizing DC nodes is "the same as you would do for a server")

To "integrate" two separate systems, you are looking at adding an application link between them, and then setting up piles of automations and scripting to enable the more clever things you might want to do. 

I strongly recommend installing JSM on the existing DC - it's cheaper and easier than building another DC cluster, and the "integration" is automatically much tighter because you're running everything in one place.
