I do not see any option to create a test and I have the free trial version of xray. How should I integrate xray into JIRA so I can create test cases.
Hi @Priya ,
using below plugin you can easily create testcases from user story
If you need a solution to automate test case creation for your Jira stories, the Test Case Assistant for Jira is a great option. This plugin streamlines the process by automatically generating and linking test cases to your user stories based on your specified templates.
With just a click on "Test Case Assistant" within your Jira story, you can effortlessly create and link test cases. The app also allows customization of test case formats using various prompts and leverages advanced OpenAI models to ensure the generated test cases are relevant and high-quality. For extended functionality and higher usage limits, you can easily integrate your own OpenAI API token within the app settings.

Install Xray Add-on:
If Xray is not already installed in your Jira instance, you need to install it from the Atlassian Marketplace.
Go to the Atlassian Marketplace and search for "Xray."
Follow the instructions to install the Xray add-on.
Configure Xray:
Once Xray is installed, you may need to configure it according to your organization's needs. Configuration settings typically include permissions, custom fields, and other settings.
Access the Xray settings from the Jira administration area.
Set Up Test Repository:
Define your test repository in Xray. This is where you'll organize your test cases, test sets, and test plans.
You can create folders and subfolders to organize your tests effectively.
Create Test Cases:
After setting up your test repository, start creating test cases.
Test cases in Xray are Jira issues of a specific type provided by Xray (e.g., Test, Precondition, Test Set).
You can create test cases directly in Xray or by using the "Create" button in Jira and selecting the appropriate issue type provided by Xray.
Associate Test Cases with Jira Issues:
You can associate test cases with Jira issues, such as user stories, epics, or tasks, to ensure traceability between requirements and tests.
Link test cases to related Jira issues by adding them as subtasks or using other linkage methods provided by Jira.
Execute Test Runs:
Once you have created your test cases, you can execute them by creating test runs.
Test runs are executions of test cases against specific versions or builds of your software.
You can create test runs directly from the test repository or from within Jira.
View Test Reports:
Xray provides various test reports and metrics to help you track the progress and results of your testing efforts.
You can generate test execution reports, coverage reports, and other types of reports from the Xray interface.
By following these steps, you can integrate Xray into Jira and effectively manage your test cases within your Jira projects.
