Hi,
I'm stuck with synchronization of comments between parent - child(s) tickets.
For one of my customers, I have configured 2 jira projects for the follow up of incoming Requests.
Projects are divided as following:
- RFC project for Requests
- Change project for Change (linked) tickets
Workflow structure:
Business creates RFC. Automatically Change tickets will be created in the Change project based on selection of Components. Those newly created Change tickets are linked through link type 'Child'.
So RFC can contain more than 1 linked (change) tickets.
At some point in the workflow of a Change ticket, the assignee can ask more info from business, through transition button 'Ask more info'.
To notify business about the question, I've setup 'Email this issue' post function with JMWE. The comment which is entered during the transition is in the notification visible to the recipient.
In the meantime the status of RFC ticket changes to 'Awaiting business info'.
Business replies through transition button 'Resubmit', entering the answer in the comment field which is on the transition.
So far it works fine.
Imagine all of the Change tickets has requested more info through 'Ask more info' transition. How can business answer separatly all Change tickets?
Has someone experience with this matter? Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you in advance.
Zehra,
Have you considered using Automation for Jira for this instead of JMWE? It has exponentially greater flexibility and could definitely handle this need.
