If you assign the browse projects permission to a certain role in a certain permission scheme,

will they only be able to browse projects associated with that scheme or all projects on that Jira Server?

Hi @Chike Okafor and welcome to the Community!

You would still need to link people (or groups) to that role to make sure that they get to browse the projects using that scheme. Linking people to a role is something you do project by project.

Apart from that, what happens to projects with a different permission scheme, depends on how that scheme is configured. If the browse project permission there is granted to e.g. application access, then every user who can log into Jira will have access to those projects. And so on ...

Hope this helps!

Thanks Walter!!

But are they not going to be assigned to the roles that have been created via the system settings?

Or roles are created on a project-by-project basis like team-managed projects?
