Brand new to JIRA On Demand. I’m looking to do a CSV import into JIRA. With some searching, I’ve been able to find the super-secret URL that I need to get to the CSV importer, but I have a larger question:
What happens when I inevitably do the import wrong the first time?
Not having a staging environment against which to develop, and not knowing the JIRA system at all, I assume there is going to be some trial and error involved in getting these issues in to the system in a meaningful way.
I can’t seem to back my system up (so as to restore back over whatever horrible mess I make when I import) , or test the import, or anything like that. How do you recommend that we proceed?
Hi Fry,
In the case of CSV imports, the best course of action is to set up a staging project and test your imports in there. Once you're satisfied things are working, import them into your real project and delete the staging project.
Where is the url to access CSV import and why is it so difficult to do the very first thing you need when logging in. Pro Tip: put links to all the import methods on the BLANK issues page when first logging in!!

I noticed you asked this question here, where I've answered it.
