I love the convenience of the Notification Drawer in Confluence. I can quickly see any updates before I get an email notification about them. My only issue with it is that I can't seem to enable it in Jira.
Since I am on the engineering team, I am in Jira about 90% of the time. I always have several tabs open with differnt agile boards and bug tickets. It would be awesome to have it available in the area that I frequent the most. It would also allow us to decrease the amount of email notifications that are sent out.
Is it possible to enable this feature in Jira?
Hello all,
I've created a plugin that I'd like to recommend. "Inbox for Jira" https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.inboxforjira.inbox/server/overview
It shows in-app notifications on issues in the right hand upper corner, next to the user icon. The addon is highly configurable. Version 2.0 is just out which has new features such as quick voting, watching and commenting on an issue.
Get it here:

Hope it solves your notification needs. Feel free to give feedback and feature requests.
Thanks ,
Rickard
OK, This thread has been open since 2013. Is there by now a feature in Jira which shows me all the notifications that I usually get an email for?
It's bad that i have to switch back to my email inbox to see if someone commented on or made a change to one of my issues.
thx

this post was from 2013 and in current jira, you have options to be notified but I am not receiving email notifications and need help on this issue. on top of that I will love to get notified if only the asignee did an update to an issue for example

Is it possible to view old JIRA notifications (eg: downtime, features removed)? If missed or not screen captured, can't find them anywhere.

Hey Adam,
Just head over to https://jira.atlassian.com and you can submit a feature request there - you can login with your Atlassian ID or create an account if you don't have one already.

Ah, good to know. Thanks for the info.
What are the proper channels to go through for putting in a feature request?

As of right now there is no notification drawer function for JIRA at the moment. The closest you'll get is the activity stream gadget on a dashboard or opening your user profile.
Your user profile will show all the things that you do, but not anything that is done to your tickets.
The activity stream will show activity on everything that you are allowed to view.
