I created a table in the JIRA description field and merged cells to complete the table. However, when I print or export to Word, the merged table is not visible. Unmerged tables are visible. What is the issue?
Hello @이지수
Good Day!
Please note that Exporting Rich Text fields, such as the Description field in an issue, requires the conversion of an ADF document into its Wiki representation. This converted Wiki representation is subsequently exported into a .doc
file format. It is important to note that merged cells within ADF documents cannot be accurately represented in a human-readable format in Wiki. As a result, when these documents are exported to the .doc
format, the contents of tables with merged cells are removed. This occurs because the table structure becomes invalid and cannot be properly rendered.
We have a feature request raised for this use case: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-93940
Please feel free to watch/vote on it and add your valuable feedback!
Thank you for your service.
This issue is not limited to PDF output; exporting JIRA issues to other systems also results in the loss of merged cell data. This is a serious problem as it leads to missing user data. When will this bug be fixed?
Although it was mentioned that complex table structures are not supported, merged cells are actually very simple structures. I cannot understand why this issue is being neglected.
