Issues not getting striked off even though Resolution is set

Hi,

I needed the subtasks which have the resolution field filled to be marked as strike-off, or basically Done. I am filling in the resolution field while transitioning to a status, which is in grey color.

I noticed that only those Statuses which are in green color and have resolution filled are marked as strike-off, and the Statuses in other colors (Blue and Grey) are not.

In this case, the issues in Descoped status having resolution, are not getting strike-off, whereas the issues in Closed status having resolution are.

Everywhere in the internet it is written that the only criteria for strike-off is the resolution field, but still I am facing this issue. Please let me know if this is a restriction by Jira.

Hi @Rishivansh Patnaik ,

statuses in grey colour reflect  a generic To Do while blue in Progress. Those in green as completed.

In order for an issue to be fully completed, the status should be set in green colour and a resolution set otherwise in Jira's point of view the issue still not resolved.

Example1: Issue is in Closed status (fulfilled) and resolution is unresolved (not fulfilled)

Example2: Issue is in Descoped status (not fulfilled) and resolution is Fixed (fulfilled)

Applying AND logic the examples above are False, therefore issues will not be fully done. Resolution should be set as well as a completed valid status (green colour)

Got it Sam,

Seems like what my colleague @Megha Debnath suspected was correct. Any sort of documentation on this by Jira would have been good.

Anyways, we can live with this for now.
